The 2022 Stanley Cup Final started off with a bang. The Avalanche grabbed a 1-0 series lead thanks to a 4-3 overtime win in Game 1 over the Lightning on Wednesday night.
Andre Burakovsky scored 1:23 into the extra frame to give Colorado its fourth overtime win of the 2022 playoffs.

The Avs jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first period thanks to two weak goals allowed by Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy. After a Nick Paul goal cut the lead to one, Artturi Lehkonen made it a two-goal lead again with another first-period tally.
Tampa Bay struck back with two goals 48 seconds apart in the second period to tie the game. Burakovsky then ended it in OT.
After an action-packed Game 1, the focus shifts to Game 2 this weekend. The Avalanche have an opportunity to grab a 2-0 series lead at home, while the Lightning are aiming to knot the series before heading back to Tampa for Games 3 and 4.
