The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that they have placed forward Andreas Johnsson on the long-term injured reserve with a leg injury.
Johnsson suffered the injury late in the second period when he blocked a shot from Avalanche defenseman Ryan Graves. The team announced he would not return to the game at the start of the third and final frame, and on Friday, it was revealed he underwent a CT scan for the injury.

Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe had told reporters after the game that the 25-year-old's injury did not appear serious, but Johnsson was too sore to continue playing in the team's 3-1 loss to Colorado.
With Johnsson placed on LTIR, the Leafs have recalled forwards Nic Petan and Pontus Aberg, as well as defenseman Martin Marincin.
