After opening the 2017-18 NHL season by scoring seven goals in two games, Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is at it again.
Washington was tied with the Red Wings 3-3 Friday night in Detroit at the end of regulation. Early in the overtime period, Ovechkin drew a tripping penalty to force a power play. Then just 1:56 into the extra period, it was Ovechkin who caught a pass from Nicklas Backstrom and fired into the net to score the goal and give the Capitals the 4-3 road win.

Ovechkin's overtime goal was the 20th of his career, and the most scored by any player in NHL history.
Jaromir Jagr sits just right behind Ovechkin on that list with 19.
