The Tennessee Titans notched their first win of the 2024 season in Week 4 before heading off into their bye, but they did so without quarterback Will Levis.
Levis exited the game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury after diving for a first down. He never re-entered the game after that, leaving Mason Rudolph to finish out the contest.
Tennessee not only went on to win, the team dropped 30 points for the first time in over 1,000 days, which led some to believe that Rudolph may get the nod in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts.
But head coach Brian Callahan quickly shot that down, saying the team would stick with Levis if he's healthy enough to play. On Monday, Callahan provided a positive injury update on the Titans signal-caller.
Will Levis injury update
According to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com, Levis is expected to practice this week after getting another day off on Tuesday. Callahan noted that the Kentucky product "should be ready to roll."
"We'll give him one more day before he gets back into a weekly routine on Wednesday," Callahan said, "and (he) should be ready to roll. Stay tuned for any updates or changes, but expect him to be in the practice routine this week."
Callahan reiterated that Levis will play if his throwing isn't impact by the injury.
"If he's good to practice and good to go, then he's going to play," Callahan said. "Unless (the shoulder) is affecting his ability to do his job. …. If it still hurts a ton and he is having trouble throwing effectively and all those things, it is a whole different conversation. We'll see how the week of practice goes, but I feel pretty good about where he should be at."
Per Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, Levis is dealing with an AC sprain that might have kept him out in Week 5 if the Titans weren't on a bye. Kuharsky added that Levis is expected to play, although he may have to deal with pain.
Will Levis has an AC sprain of his throwing shoulder. Wouldn’t necessarily play this week. Should be OK for Indy after bye but will still likely have some pain. #Titans

Levis has struggled mightily to begin his sophomore season. He has a whopping nine turnovers in four games, which leads the NFL. He's got to turn things around quickly if Tennessee wants any shot at making the playoffs.
