The Tennessee Titans are set to trim their roster down to 53 players by before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET deadline. However, general manager Ran Carthon will have yet another opportunity to tweak his roster ahead of Tennessee's regular-season opener against the Chicago Bears.
Once the roster cuts are made, teams will be on the lookout for potential talent from the waiver wire and the free-agent market. Players with at least four accrued seasons in the NFL will go straight to free agency when cut, while those with three or less accrued seasons will be subject to waivers.
Teams will have until Wednesday, Aug. 28, at noon ET to claim waived players. Any unclaimed players will then become free agents. After the initial waiver period, teams will also start forming their practice squads.
The Titans could be in the market for a quarterback to keep on the practice squad after the team parted with third-year quarterback Malik Willis on Monday.
Given that Chance Campbell has landed on the injured reserve (IR) and Cedric Gray's timeline to return remains unknown, along with head coach Brian Callahan's concern about the lack of depth along the defensive line, it's highly likely that Tennessee will be looking to strengthen these positions in the coming days.
Taking all of this into account, let's take a look at the Titans' position in the waiver order ahead of Wednesday, which should play favorably in landing depth.
The current order is based on the 2024 NFL Draft order through Week 3 before transitioning to 2024 records and being updated weekly.
