Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has abandoned the run entirely too early in this game. However, he has managed to come up with a few clever playcalls going up against what's been a very tough Detroit Lions pass defense thus far. This clever play that Grubb dialed up on a third down and 16 in the second quarter is one page in the playbook that he'll want to keep around for the future.
Watch Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith deliver a pass to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who throws a lateral to running back Zach Charbonnet, who finishes the job and converts for a first down.

Cool stuff, but trick plays don't win games, linemen do and the Seahawks are still getting mostly pulverized at the line of scrimmage. They trail 21-7 at halftime.
