What will the San Francisco 49ers do with star receiver Brandon Aiyuk?
This question has been swirling around for months. It seemed like a certainty that he would be traded but then things changed. San Francisco was in trade talks around the National Football League Draft but nothing came of it.
The 49ers then made it sound like they don't actually want to move him but want to form a long-term partnership instead. While that is the case, more rumors have been swirling about a possible trade.
It certainly is uncertain what the two sides will do, but Aiyuk made a bold prediction about the 2024 campaign on "The Pivot Podcast," as transcribed by Bleacher Report's Zach Bachar.
"San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk predicted the teams that he may play for once the 2024 season starts," Bachar said. "If I were to take a guess, probably a Niner uniform," Aiyuk said. "Probably a Niner uniform. I mean, if not a Niner uniform, probably a Washington Commander uniform. If not a Washington Commanders uniform, probably a (Pittsburgh Steelers) uniform."
The fact that he mentioned the Commanders and Steelers as options certainly is interesting. Both have been tied to the star receiver in some way and it sounds like he at least has some level of interest in both teams as well.
Hopefully, he and the 49ers can work things out though and he doesn't go anywhere else.
