The San Francisco 49ers brought back wide receiver Jauan Jennings on a two-year contract Wednesday. A restricted free agent, Jennings had not signed his tender and instead got a lucrative two-year contract instead.
Restricted free-agent WR Jauan Jennings is signing a two-year deal with the 49ers worth up to $15.4 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed. The deal was negotiated and confirmed by agents Drew and Jason Rosenhaus.

Jennings re-signing gives the 49ers a trio of Deebo Samuel, Jennings and first-round pick Ricky Pearsall. That leaves the big question: what happens with Brandon Aiyuk?
Having asked for a trade or a market-level contract, Aiyuk has been on the trading block since just before the NFL Draft. He is currently set just over $14 million in the final year of his rookie contract. It's not a surprise that he is seeking a new contract, especially with the likes of Amon-Ra St. Brown, A.J. Brown and Nico Collins have gotten.
The signing of Jennings gives the 49ers a safety blanket if Aiyuk ends up either leaving or potentially holding out. Will he play for the 49ers this season? It feels less likely now than it did before the extension.
