Even though the San Francisco 49ers didn't win the Super Bowl last season, there is no doubt that they were one of the most dominant teams in the National Football League, and it's likely they'll repeat their success in 2024.
This belief was further supported by Pro Football Focus' recent ranking of the 50 best players in the NFL ahead of the 2024 season. Not only did the 49ers have more players on the list than any other team, but four of them came in the Top 10.
Offensive tackle Trent Williams came in at No. 3 behind quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 1, and defensive end Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns at No. 2. Williams has been an integral part of the 49ers since 2020 and is a major reason for the team's offensive success.
Defensive lineman Nick Bosa came in at No. 7 with linebacker Fred Warner and running back Christian McCaffrey coming soon after at No. 9 and 10 respectively.
Other San Francisco players on the ranking include tight end George Kittle (No. 19), wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (No. 49), and wide receiver Deebo Samuel (No. 50).
While the 49ers had more players on the ranking than any other team, other organizations came close. The Chiefs had six players, the Baltimore Ravens had five, the Philadelphia Eagles had four, and the Miami Dolphins had three.
Six teams had two players on the list, nine had one, and nine teams had none, proving how much depth there is on San Francisco's roster.
