NFL insider reveals what 49ers want from Steelers in Brandon Aiyuk trade image

The Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers continue to wait for the other to flinch in their trade talks for Brandon Aiyuk, and now we know exactly what the Niners are looking for from the Steelers.

According to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, the Niners are looking for a second- and third-round pick from Pittsburgh in exchange for the stud receiver.

Maiocco adds that "there's no indication a resolution is coming any time soon," though, as the Steelers are apparently unwilling to meet San Fran's demands.

Aiyuk has publicly expressed a desire to play for the Steelers. And as much as they might want Aiyuk, they have been unwilling to provide the 49ers with their asking price of draft picks that include second- and third-round selections, according to a source.

So, the bottom line is this: There is no trade with the Steelers or the Browns. And there's no indication a resolution is coming any time soon.

It was previously reported that the Niners were looking for a player in return from the Steelers, but it would appear that is not the case at this point, at least based on what Maiocco wrote.

Earlier in the day, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that the Steelers and Niners hadn't talked in 24 hours and the Niners and Aiyuk are now re-engaged in contract extension talks, something NFL Network's Tom Pelissero confirmed.

This situation has been the true definition of a roller coaster, as the Steelers have, based on several reports, been in it for Aiyuk, out of it for Aiyuk, back in it for Aiyuk again, and now Pittsburgh and San Fran are at a standstill.
