Pittsburgh Steelers rookie right tackle Troy Fautanu suffered a knee injury during the team's final practice ahead of the Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers and things are reportedly not looking great.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fautanu will be "sidelined indefinitely" due to the knee injury. The exact injury and severity remains unknown as of this writing, but Schefter notes that Fautanu is still being evaluated.
Fautanu suffered a knee injury during the preseason that forced him to miss the final two exhibition contests. It isn't clear if this is the same knee.
A 2024 first-round pick, Fautanu was inserted into the starting lineup last week in a rotation with 2023 first-round pick, Broderick Jones. However, Jones was benched during the contest, paving the way for Fautanu to keep the job.

Of course, with Fautanu sidelined for what looks to be an extended period of time, the Steelers will deploy Jones at right tackle once again. Veteran Dan Moore has stayed at left tackle this season and is playing well to begin the campaign.
The Steelers and Chargers will kick off from Acrisure Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 22, with the game set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
