The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they had agreed to an extension with head coach Mike Tomlin on Monday that would keep him with the franchise through 2027.

Tomlin is already the longest-tenured active coach in the league, having been with the Steelers since 2007.

Across social media, fans and analysts alike agreed that the deal made sense for both sides.

While the Steelers have had their ups and downs over the years with Tomlin, they have never had a losing season under his leadership, and have won the AFC North title seven times since the start of his tenure.

The Steelers will kick off their 2024 campaign on September 8 with a road game against the Atlanta Falcons
