The Las Vegas Raiders and Pittsburgh Steelers will enter their Week 6 battle at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday with both teams in desperate need of a win.
After starting out 3-0, the Steelers have dropped each of their last two contests and are now facing a potential quarterback decision. Russell Wilson appears to be fully healthy finally after logging a full practice on Wednesday, and he could move back into the starting role he was given prior to the start of the season, which would put Justin Fields on the bench.
Meanwhile, the Raiders are losers of two of their last three and the team has seen no shortage of turmoil, whether it be because of Davante Adams, lackluster play at quarterback, or injuries. Speaking of that lackluster play: the Raiders are making their own change under center, going from Gardner Minshew to Aidan O'Connell.
Despite things going in the wrong direction recently for both teams, experts are overwhelmingly convinced this is going to be a win for the Steelers. Let's see what they're saying.
NFL picks, predictions Week 6
Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Steelers 27, Raiders 10
Iyer: "The Steelers had it rough on the road against the Colts and at home vs. the Cowboys, as their run-heavy formula fueled by Justin Fields failed with the defense getting worn down late. Here, they don't need to worry about a real run defense or a real passing game, as the Black and Gold dominate the Silver and Black in the crowd for what will feel like a Vegas road trip. Fields will show up his former offensive coordinator, Luke Getsy, working for the other side with a 100-yard rushing game while T.J. Watt wreaks havoc on whoever starts at QB for the Raiders."
Bill Bender, Sporting News: Steelers 20, Raiders 14
Bender: "Will the Raiders trade Davante Adams soon? It's something to monitor throughout the week. This game will be a dual showcase for Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby (5.0 sacks) and Pittsburgh linebacker T.J. Watt (4.5 sacks). The Raiders are 30th in the NFL in rushing offense (84.0 ypg.), and that will be the undoing against the Steelers, who will protect Justin Fields enough to make the game-changing plays."
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Steelers 21, Raiders 13
Prisco: "There is a chance Aidan O'Connell could take over for Gardner Minshew, who was benched last week. Whoever starts will be facing a good Pittsburgh defense. The Steelers will counter with Justin Fields, who needs a good game to quiet the critics and the Russell Wilson talk. I think Fields will outplay whoever plays quarterback for the Raiders."
