NFL picks, predictions Week 4: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts image

The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of five unbeaten teams left in the NFL after three weeks and they'll look to keep their spotless record intact in a road matchup versus the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday in Week 4.

Pittsburgh saw its best offensive performance of the 2024 season on Sunday, and combined with another stellar showing from their elite defense, the Steelers beat the Los Angeles Chargers, 20-10.

The Steelers may have a decision to make at quarterback this week, as Russell Wilson, who was named the starter to begin the season, is expected to resume practicing but the team may stick with Justin Fields after a 3-0 start.

The Colts finally secured their first win in Week 3, defeating the Chicago Bears, 21-16. Indy won its last meeting with Pittsburgh last season but had lost the previous eight matchups against the Steelers.

Now, here's what experts think of the Week 4 contest between the Steelers and Colts.

NFL picks, predictions Week 4: Steelers vs. Colts

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Steelers, 23, Colts 13

Iyer: "This is an atrocious matchup for the Colts. They cannot stop the power run or running QBs, which plays right into the hands of Najee Harris and Justin Fields. They also are giving up some big pass plays outside — not good vs. George Pickens. Anthony Richardson is struggling passing while having limited rushing impact on the other side. T.J. Watt and the Steelers' defense won't allow him to break out of his sophomore slump."

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Steelers 21, Colts 17

Bender: "The Steelers are one of the last unbeaten teams in the AFC, and they are doing it with the classic formula of a defense that allows 229.7 yards and 8.7 yards per game and conservative yet effective play from Justin Fields. The Steelers also are perfect against the spread, a product of lines that have been four points or less so far. Anthony Richardson will make a few plays, but the Colts are 31st against the run (179.0 ypg.). Fields will make a few plays with his legs, too."

Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Steelers 20, Colts 14

Cluff: "The Steelers' defense is elite. It has allowed 26 points in three games. There's no reason it shouldn't feast on Anthony Richardson and the Colts."

Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: Steelers 16, Colts 10

Johnson: "The Pittsburgh Steelers get after the quarterback few others and their identity offensively is running the football. That makes this a rough matchup for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. Not only do the Colts have the worst run defense in the NFL, but Anthony Richardson is also making a lot of mistakes and missing countless throws every game. It all bodes well for the Steelers closing out September on a strong note."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Steelers 20, Colts 16

Prisco: "The Steelers are riding high at 3-0 and their style travels well. They are physical defense that will limit the Colts run game and make Anthony Richardson beat them. He won't. The Steelers and Justin Fields will do enough on offense to pull out a victory."
