The Pittsburgh Steelers' roster is filled with talent both old and young, but only a single player is viewed as a Hall of Fame lock in the eyes of one NFL analyst.
Steelers star edge rusher T.J. Watt is one of the most dominant pass rushers in recent memory. He has recorded at least 15 sacks in three of the last four seasons and has 96.5 for his career, putting him squarely on track for the Hall of Fame.
And that's something Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report agrees with after listing Watt in his "Locks" category in his rankings for the best Hall of Fame resumes among active NFL players.
"It's Watt who's at four in that category (All-Pro nods), along with a Defensive Player of the Year honor and six Pro Bowls before turning 30. That's undeniable," Gagnon wrote.
The other players alongside Watt in the locks category are Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, San Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams, Dallas Cowboys right guard Zack Martin, Washington Commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Buffalo Bills edge rusher Von Miller. This elite company speaks volumes about Watt's success in just seven seasons.
His newly acquired teammate and long-time Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, found himself in the "On the Brink" category. Meanwhile, veteran defensive lineman Cameron Heyward was listed as a "Long Shot."
Watt is fresh off a campaign where he played in every game and totaled 19 sacks, the second-most he's tallied in a single season. He also earned yet another Pro Bowl nod and first-team All-Pro selection, the sixth and fourth of his career, respectively.
