The Pittsburgh Steelers showed progress on offense last week in the 22-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Unfortunately, that didn't mean a ton for either running back Najee Harris or tight end Pat Freiermuth.
Harris did have his best fantasy football showing of 2024 last week, with 70 rushing yards on 18 carries and five receptions for 16 receiving yards, but the running back failed to find the end zone once again.
Freiermuth tied his season-high with four receptions, but his 33 yards were nothing to write home about in what was his second-best fantasy showing of the season.
So, are we rolling with either player in fantasy football lineups this week in a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts? Let's find out.
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Najee Harris
There was some concern about Harris after the Week 3 game after he was spotted with his arm in a sling, but he isn't listed with an injury on the team's injury report and head coach Mike Tomlin said he'd be good to go for Week 4.
Harris still hasn't broken 70 rushing yards in a game this season, nor has he scored a touchdown, but he continues to dominate touches out of the backfield (20.6 per game) and posted five receptions last week, a season-high for him.
Harris draws a somewhat favorable matchup against a Colts defense that is in the middle of the pack when it comes to fantasy points allowed per game to running backs.
We think Harris finds the end zone this week, but his volume alone is enough to give him a look in the flex spot in lineups.
Verdict: Start 'Em
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Pat Freiermuth
Freiermuth continues to post lackluster fantasy production, as he's tallied less than eight points in each game this season in PPR formats. Normally, that would have us leaving him on the bench.
But the Colts are one of the more giving teams to tight ends this season, with Indy being tied for the eighth-most fantasy points per game allowed to tight ends. Also, Pittsburgh's offense made strides last week and is on the upswing.
If you have a better option at the position, roll with it. However, that isn't always the case and if your options are limited, you could do worse than Freiermuth and the favorable matchup he has this week.
Verdict: Start 'Em
