Talk about pouring salt in the wound.
Fans of the New York Giants have been incensed at general manager Joe Schoen for how he handled Saquon Barkley in free agency. It’s only gotten worse week by week as Barkley has gone off for 435 rushing yards and five total touchdowns through four games as a member of the hated Philadelphia Eagles.
Things reached a boiling point Sunday during the first half of the Giants’ Week 5 road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
With starting running back Devin Singletary inactive due to a groin injury, and Barkley watching from his couch during Philadelphia’s bye week, the Giants experienced a disastrous result on a goal-line carry by former fifth-round draft pick Eric Gray.
On a snap from inside the 1-yard line, Gray had the ball jarred loose before he could break the plane of the goal line. To make matters worse, the Giants stood around as Rayshwan Jenkins returned the fumble 102 yards for a comically easy Seahawks touchdown.

That highlight is also known as “The New York Giants Experience.”
One thing Giants fans can agree on is this: That play would have turned out differently had Daniel Jones handed the ball off to Barkley.
