Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had to give a tip of the hat to a creative New York Giants fan.
Barkley has heard all types of stuff thrown his way from Giants fans upset with his decision to sign with an NFC East rival.
But the nickname he heard that stuck out the most and was also PG?
Snake-quon.
Barkley revealed the funny nickname during a recent appearance on the “Scoop City” podcast with Dianna Russini.
"Snake-quon, I said that one's hilarious," Barkley said "... I love life, like I can laugh at stuff. Someone had me in an Eagles jersey…and I was built like a snake, like it was hilarious.”
Barkley went to the Eagles on a three-year contract worth $37.75 million, which left the Giants bemused after losing their “most popular player we have, by far,” hence the animated reactions from some of the fans.
But even Barkley can find the humor in some of it, especially when the pushback gets so creative.
How badly did Giants fans take "Snake-quon" Barkley signing with the division-rival Eagles?
