Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown took a significant step Friday as he continues to work through a multi-week hamstring injury, logging a limited practice session. It was Brown's first organized football activities since experiencing hamstring tightness on Sept. 13.
The Eagles will be without star wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who continues to work his way through the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol. Smith was officially ruled out by the team on Friday.
With Britain Covey placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, the Eagles could be down to newcomers Jahan Dotson, Parris Campbell and rookie Johnny Wilson at wide receiver against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4, if Brown is unable to suit up.
The only other player carrying an injury designation for the Eagles is starting right tackle Lane Johnson, who's questionable with a concussion. Johnson was able to return in a limited capacity on Friday.
