A.J. Brown got paid.

Just a few days after the Philadelphia Eagles gave a three-year, $75 million extension to DeVonta Smith, general manager Howie Roseman locked in Brown for the foreseeable future, agreeing to a new three-year, $96 million extension with the star wide receiver.

The deal is the richest extension ever signed by an NFL receiver by average annual salary, and comes with $84 million guaranteed.

Brown’s extension comes on the night of the first round of the draft in a bit of poetic symmetry. Just two years ago, on night one of the draft, Brown first joined the Eagles via a draft day trade with the Tennessee Titans.

Since joining the Eagles, Brown has continued his streak as one of the top receivers in the NFL, clearing 1,400 yards receiving in both of his years with the Birds and claiming an NFC championship.

While the Eagles lost a few big names in the offseason, most notably center Jason Kelce and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, with both Brown and Smith now locked in for the foreseeable future, and quarterback Jalen Hurts not going anywhere any time soon, Philadelphia has established a reliable offensive core that they can build around for the next five years.
