Bills coach Rex Ryan became a Cubs fan when his father, Buddy, coached the Bears in Chicago.
He was so excited to see his team play in the World Series that he actually went to Cleveland on Wednesday night for Game 7. The Bills had a day off due to this week's game being played on Monday night, so he decided to treat himself. But instead of seeing the Cubs win the World Series for the first time in 108 years, the coach left during the rain delay.
Rex Ryan says he and about a dozen friends left during rain delay of Game 7 of World Series. "I hate to admit it," he says. He's a Cubs fan.

Making matters even worse, the bus Ryan took with friends didn't have a working radio so he couldn't listen to the call of the final out.
It seems crazy to leave Game 7 of the World Series, no matter who you're rooting for. That's a great moment for any sports fan, but Ryan knew his schedule wouldn't allow him to stick around indefinitely.
"We had to [leave] because you know, we have to get back to work, you know what I mean?" Ryan explained Friday. "So we have to get back to work, we have the rain delay and I'm like, 'You gotta be kidding,' and you're looking at it like, 'When's it going to pass?' I'll be honest, I wanted to stay but I'm like, 'If this thing's delayed for a couple of hours, there's no way. We gotta get back.'"

Talking about it Friday, Ryan was clearly upset he left, and probably would have stayed if he knew the rain delay wasn't going to last so long.
