Week 2 DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for cash games image

With one week of the NFL season now in the books, it's time to move onto Week 2. And that means that it's time for Week 2 NFL DFS contests. Last week, we topped 160 points with our Sunday lineup largely thanks to the WR duo of Keenan Allen and A.J. Green. This week, we'll try to do even better and are looking to go 2-for-2 with our NFL Week 2 DraftKings lineup for cash games.

Players that received encouraging volume Week 1 will be prioritized, particularly where the price adjustment didn't go nearly far enough. At tight end, I considered some options that saw high targets and avoided paying the Gronk premium this week.

Week 2 Rankings:
Quarterback | Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | Kicker

Here's our Week 2 DraftKings lineup for cash games.

NFL Week 2 DraftKings Cash Lineup

QB Jimmy Garoppolo, SF vs. DET ($6,000): Jimmy GQ goes from visiting Minnesota, where teams barely scratched double-digits last year, to hosting the Lions, who just let Sam Darnold roll in and top 70 percent and 9.0 yards per attempt in his debut. Garoppolo only gets bumped from $5,700 to $6,000, so that makes him a good value.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: RB Melvin Gordon, LAC @ BUF ($7,400): No running back saw more targets than Gordon last week, and he still managed 15 carries in mostly negative game script. Gordon boasts a high floor regardless of game flow and we need to save about $2K due to other lineup developments, so making the swap here.

EARLIER PICK: RB Alvin Kamara, NO vs. CLE ($9,500): Jam Kamara until Mark Ingram gets back, especially since we're still not approaching high-end Le'Veon Bell/David Johnson price territory. Kamara pulled in another 17 touches on 80-percent snap share in Week 1, which is fine when five catches is the reasonable floor.

RB James Conner, PIT vs. KC ($6,700): Unless Bell suddenly shows up, anything sub-$7K is worth smashing on a good back in a great role. Conner led all running backs in touches Week 1 (36) and Melvin Gordon just popped the Chiefs for 30 DK points.

WEEK 2 DFS CASH LINEUPS: Yahoo | FanDuel

WR Kenny Stills, MIA @ NYJ ($5,700): Stills ate up 53 percent of the receiving yards from Dolphins WRs last week. The established alpha target in this offense won't sustain that share, but should benefit in games where the pie gets larger — larger than in sloppy games with several storm stoppages like Week 1.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: WR Jarvis Landry, CLE @ NO ($6,300): Moving up $1,700 from Randall Cobb since Aaron Rodgers' injury seems more serious than we anticipated, pushing his return to practice back to Saturday. In cash we'll avoid the risk, grab Landry off a 14-target week and with Cleveland in the Superdome as two-score dogs.

EARLIER PICK WR Randall Cobb, GB vs. MIN ($4,600): Given the departure of Jordy Nelson and Cobb's history with Aaron Rodgers, Week 1's production makes Cobb an easy target at sub-$5K. He posted top-six figures among receivers in both yards and catches.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: WR Kenny Golladay, DET @ SF ($4,800): Golladay's usage skyrocketed from 2017, matching preseason hype and translating to the team lead in receiving yards, targets and receptions in Week 1. The Lions receivers are projected to again see volume as TD dogs on the road.

EARLIER PICK WR Chris Godwin, TB vs. PHI ($4,600): Godwin is set for decent volume if DeSean Jackson (concussion) is inactive, the possibility for which this price doesn't seem to factor. Godwin took full advantage of opportunity by averaging 5-for-105 over the final two games last season and had a solid '18 opener as well.

TE George Kittle, SF vs. DET ($3,800):  We nearly landed on Gronk with all the positional volatility expected for 2018 and the TE disappointments in Week 1. We'll take the $3,200 in savings to get a player who led his team in targets and nearly matched Gronk's depth of target.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: RB Tevin Coleman, ATL vs. CAR ($5,300): We still like Lamar Miller this week, but we're also here for the sans Devonta Freeman splits, illustrated by RotoCurve's Josh Collachi. Coleman more than doubles his carries and rushing yards in a small yet still telling and intuitive sample. Doesn't hurt that Falcons are favored on the home track.

EARLIER PICK FLEX Lamar Miller, HOU @ TEN ($5,400): Miller managed 20 carries when his team trailed for most of Week 1. Houston now visits a banged-up Tennessee squad featuring Blaine Gabbert or an injured Marcus Mariota. This price doesn't pay enough respect for that kind of locked-in volume.

DST Chargers @ Bills ($3,600): The Chargers either see Nathan Peterman — who threw five picks in one half against San Diego last year — or rookie Josh Allen's debut as a starter. We prefer Peterman, but like both.
