It turns out Vontaze Burfict didn't get off scot-free for his controversial low hit on Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger last weekend.
Burfict's agent, Audie Attar, told ESPN.com on Thursday that the Bengals linebacker was hit with three separate fines by the NFL for incidents during Cincinnati's loss to the Steelers. Attar said earlier in the week that Burfict would not be fined at all.

In addition to the hit on Roethlisberger, Burfict was fined for two unnecessary roughness penalties. He is appealing the fines.
Burfict drew the ire of the Steelers when it appeared he intentionally dove at Roethlisberger's ankles as Roethlisberger followed through on a pass during the first half of the game in Cincinnati. Burfict said he was pushed. Roethlisberger took exception.
"I don't buy he was pushed," Roethlisberger said Tuesday during an appearance on Pittsburgh radio station KDKA-FM. "I think he was definitely diving low for my legs."
The amounts of the fines were not disclosed. (UPDATE: Attar told NFL.com Thursday night that the fines total about $70,000.)
Burfict has had a checkered past when it comes to NFL discipline.
Most recently, he was fined $25,000 last season for deliberately targeting and twisting the ankles of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and tight end Greg Olsen during a game. He was also accused by Steelers players of celebrating an injury to running back Le'Veon Bell during their Week 8 meeting this season. Burfict's hit ended Bell's season.
