For the Vikings, the discussion is going to be focused on a quarterback but there are currently seven picks on day three that the Vikings can use to make the team better.

These scouting reports are to help be a guide for you to understand what each player will be in the NFL.

Background

Fabian Lovett

  • Transfer from Mississippi State
  • Height: 6040
  • Weight: 318 lbs
  • Fourth-year Senior
  • 4-star recruit per 247 Sports
  • Stats: 93 tackles, 37 solo, 14.5 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks, 4 passes defended, 1 forced fumble

Strengths

  • Is incredibly long. with 35.5" arms
  • Holds up really well at the point of attack. Upper body is really strong and can hold his ground.
  • Controls the blocker with strong hands. Has a power full punch

Weaknesses

  • Isn't super explosive in his lower half. It comes up in a big was by coming off the ball slowly and against double teams.
  • Along with not having a lot of strength in his lower half,
  • Despite having great length, he doesn't use it well consistently. Allows blockers to get into his chest.too easily.

Overview

  • Quickness/Penetration 15.6/20
  • Power 8.0/10
  • Pass Rush Moves 7.7/10
  • Counters 7.6/10
  • Leverage 8.2/10
  • Tackling 7.9/10
  • Size/Length 8.5/10
  • Run Defense 7.6/10
  • Awareness 7.5/10
  • Grade 78.6 Third Round

Lovett has a lot to offer from a versatility and talent standpoint. However, there is still a lot left for him to both learn and develop, especially in the strength category with his lower half. His lack of explosiveness in said lower half could end up being a turnoff for some teams but there is still plenty to like.
