An NFC North battle between two potential playoff teams is set to take place in Week 14, as the Lions host the Vikings at Ford Field on Sunday.

The Vikings have been cruising for most of the season, as they sit atop the NFC North with a record of 10-2. The only losses on the season are to the Eagles and the Cowboys, two teams that are considered Super Bowl contenders in the NFC.

Minnesota is coming off a tight 27-22 win over the Jets at home. After building a 20-6 lead at the half, Mike White and New York attempted to come back in the final two quarters, but Kirk Cousins and Co. kept them out of range. A Patrick Peterson pick in the final seconds of the game sealed the victory for Minnesota.

While the Vikings have been in the playoff picture for most of the season, that hasn't been the case for the Lions. Dan Campbell's crew got off to a rocky start in 2022, struggling to a 1-6 record through the first eight weeks of the season. However, Detroit has ripped off four wins in the last five games and all of a sudden, the team is just outside of a playoff spot.

Detroit handled Jacksonville with ease last week, thumping the Jaguars 40-14. It was one of Jared Goff's best games of the year, completing 75.6% of his passes for 340 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The QB has not thrown a pick since Nov. 6 against the Packers.

This is the second meeting between the two NFC North foes this season. Minnesota won the previous matchup, a 28-24 decision in Week 3.
