The Minnesota Vikings are in such a great spot to take the next step as a football team. They have their superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson locked up and a future at quarterback in J.J. McCarthy who they selected at 10th overall.

The 2024 season is going to be one that is both important for the future of the franchise but also one that is more about building toward the future. The Vikings will tell you that their focus is on winning games and there isn't any reason to doubt them. However, it's obvious that they are building for the future first.

One of the intriguing things about the selection of McCarthy is that both he and Jefferson go by J.J. That can get confusing for everyone trying to determine who someone is talking to when both players are on the same unit. On the practice field, the two hashed it out and made a decision with who would be J.J. moving forward.

Jefferson has been called Jets for a long time and it's not a surprise that he wanted to go by his nickname. It is worth noting that McCarthy did offer to be called '9' so Jefferson could have the name which shows good leadership.

In the end, the discussion made for a fun video.
