The Minnesota Vikings continue to be at the forefront of diversity in coaching. The team announced they will be hosting their third annual diversity coaching summit at TCO Performance Center on May 20th-22nd.

According to the press release sent out by the Vikings, the idea for the summit came from assistant head coach Mike Pettine which initially came from his time in Green Bay. They invited 10 coaches last year and have invited 10 more this year.

  • Southern Arkansas OC Kyle Washington: Quarterbacks
  • South Dakota State RB coach Robbie Rouse: Running backs
  • Limestone RB coach Jordan Todman: Special teams
  • Miami FL analyst Donovan Varner: Wide receivers
  • Alabama A&M strength and conditioning asst. Whitney Jacobs: Strength and conditioning
  • Georgia Tech analyst Xavier Garcia: Defensive line
  • Lehigh DL coach Demeitre Brim: Outside linebackers
  • Austin Peay State LB coach Brandon Williams: Inside linebackers
  • Nebraska grad assistant Shevin Smith: Defensive backs
  • Bowling Green CB coach Beyah Rasool: Defensive backs

The summit will help grow and develop the next generation of coaches along with introducing them to potential employers down the line. Former Vikings running back Todman is the biggest name at the summit and it's cool to see a former player take major steps in his career.
