The UFL has filled the football void that the NFL leaves every spring.
Aside from the NFL Draft and late free agency moves, there isn't much football action for avid fans. The UFL, or the United Football League, is the result of the XFL and USFL merging in December 2023.
The idea is for the UFL to serve as a minor league for the NFL. Whether players have reached the NFL or not, the UFL can give them opportunities to be NFL players in the future.
The league is fairly small, however. There are just eight teams compared to the NFL's 32. It's uncertain whether the league will eventually expand or if it will last.
Nonetheless, the UFL's eight teams are spread across the United States to give fans a chance to catch in-person football in the spring.

Where are the UFL games played?
Unlike some of the past spring leagues, each of the eight UFL teams has its own home stadium.
Arlington Renegades
- Arlington, Texas
- Choctaw Stadium
The Renegades are one of three Texas teams in the UFL and play their home games at Choctaw Stadium.
Birmingham Stallions
- Birmingham, Alabama
- Protective Stadium
The Stallions play in 47,000-seat Protective Stadium
DC Defenders
- Washington D.C.
- Audi Field
The Defenders play at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. and share a home with D.C. United of the MLS

Houston Roughnecks
- Houston, Texas
- Rice Stadium
The Roughnecks play at Rice Stadium, which is used by Rice University
Memphis Showboats
- Memphis, Tennessee
- Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium
The Showboats' home field is at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The University of Memphis also plays here.
Michigan Panthers
- Detroit, Michigan
- Ford Field
The Michigan Panthers play on the same field as the Detroit Lions.
San Antonio Brahmas
- San Antonio, Texas
- The Alamodome
The Brahmas are one of the three Texas squads. The Alamodome is home to UTSA football, as well.
St. Louis Battlehawks
- St. Louis, Missouri
- The Dome at America's Center
St. Louis will host the 2024 UFL championship at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis.
