The Miami Dolphins' trade for Tyreek Hill last offseason was a blockbuster deal that netted Tua Tagovailoa a legitimate No. 1 receiver. Now, however, it looks like that trade had an expiration date.
Hill, 29, in an interview on SportsRadio810, declared he doesn't want to play under a new contract after his current one expires. Hill had a career-high 1,710 receiving yards last year on a career-high 119 catches.
As for what comes after football, Hill said coaching and being on the "business" side of things appeals to him, specifically the gaming industry.
"I'm going for 10 (years in the league) man," Hill -- who is entering his eighth year in the NFL -- said. "I'm gonna finish out this contract with the Dolphins man. And then I'm gonna call it quits. I wanna go into the business side." Hill was asked about coaching and didn't dismiss it, but made it sound like it wasn't a priority. "Not for long though," Hill said of a prospective coaching career. "I wanna do so many thing in my life bro."

Hill signed a four-year, $120 million extension after being traded to the Dolphins last offseason, which would make him a free agent after the 2026 season, his age-32 season. That would give the Dolphins four years with Hill getting snaps.

Tyreek Hill contract details
After being traded to the Dolphins from the Chiefs, one of the first order of business for Hill was to sign an extension.
He and Miami agreed to a four-year, $120 million extension with $72.2 million guaranteed.
It was a massive deal in an offseason that was a huge boon for receivers. Here's a look at how Hill's contract shakes out:
Year | Salary | Signing Bonus | Cap Hit |
2023 | $1.2 million | $5.1 million | $12.8 million |
2024 | $19.7 million | $5.1 million | $31 million |
2025 | $21.8 million | $5.1 million | $34.2 million |
2026 | $43.9 million | $5.1 million | $56.3 million |
The Dolphins are still going to pay a hefty price for Hill for as long as he's playing, and he's still going to be a key piece of what they're building. All this does is put a clock on Hill being a part of it.

Tyreek Hill age
It may feel like Hill has been around football for a long time, but he's still relatively young.
Hill was born on March 1, 1994, putting him at 29 years old.
By the time the 2027 season rolls around, he'll be 33.
As for what Hill wants to do after his NFL career, he said he wants to get into gaming.
“I really want to get into the gaming space,” he said. “I really want to get huge in that and that’s kind of what I’m doing right now. I’m using my platform to create a gaming team, which isn’t launched yet. It should launch by the end of this month. I’m going to just sign different content creators, different athletes. I just been working that, talking to different sponsors."
Hill's twitch, dubbed "cheetah," is frequently active.
Can Hill turn down another contract if he keeps playing at the same level he has? Only time will tell. But for the time being, he seems set on trying to get into his post-NFL career sooner than later.
