Packers' Ty Montgomery dealing with kidney ailment, report says image

Fantasy football owners were sent into a mad scramble Sunday afternoon when rumors started circulating that Packers running back/wide receiver Ty Montgomery would be held out against the Atlanta Falcons.

According to ESPN.com, Montgomery was held out for precautionary reasons after struggling with a kidney-related ailment.

It is not considered to be serious, but the Packers didn't want to take any chances.

Montgomery had been limited all week during practice with an undisclosed illness, but all reports indicated he would be ready to play. When he didn't, and news didn't break until after the early games had started, many were left to scurry for a backup plan.

With Montgomery out of the lineup, guys such as Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley, Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson and Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor could be intriguing plug-and-play options.
