ESPN fantasy football answered the cries of thousands of fans pining for Green Bay Packers upstart Ty Montgomery to gain running back eligibility.

Matthew Berry, lead fantasy football analyst for ESPN, tweeted the news Monday afternoon.

Montgomery saw little action early in the season with all of the Packers' offensive pieces healthy, but they have recently been decimated at running back with James Starks and Eddie Lacy injured.

The former Stanford product, who lined up in a number of roles for the Cardinal, had 60 yards on nine carries last week against the Chicago Bears. He also lined up at running back a week earlier against the Dallas Cowboys. At 6-0, 216 pounds, some scouts felt Montgomery profiled better as a running back in the NFL when he was drafted in the third round in 2015.

Unfortunately for Yahoo fantasy football players, Montgomery has not yet been awarded running back eligibility on their platform yet.
