Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland should lose his job if he suggested that Jonathan Martin “punch” teammate Richie Incognito for alleged bullying in the locker room, according to Sporting News NFL expert Ross Tucker.
“I can’t see any way he survives this,” Tucker told SN’s Rayven Tirado on Thursday.

“It’s one thing for a (former) player, like me, or a current player to say that’s kind of how things are usually handled in the locker room, but for someone in a management or executive position to respond in that way, that is not going to go over very well.,” Tucker added.
ProFootballTalk.com reported Wednesday that Ireland told Martin’s agent his client should physically confront Incognito. The Dolphins suspended Incognito indefinitely on Sunday after hearing a voicemail from Incognito to Martin that contained racist and threatening language.
Ireland has not responded to PFT’s report.
SUN SENTINEL: Former teammates don't understand the drama
Martin left the Dolphins last week, reportedly after a dining-hall prank by teammates. The prank may have been the final straw in a series of incidents involving the second-year offensive tackle. He reportedly is receiving treatment for emotional issues.
