Troy Aikman: No such thing as a 'game manager' image

If eye-popping stats from your quarterback were everything, the Kansas City Chiefs wouldn't be 9-0. Alex Smith is the NFL's 21st-ranked quarterback, with a modest nine touchdowns and four interceptions — earning him the coveted title of "game manager."

"I've never liked that term," Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman says on this week's Hot Reads program on Sporting News. "It really minimizes and discounts what a quarterback contributes. I've always believe you don't win in spite of your quarterback."

Aikman also talked to host Rayven Tirado about this weekend's Philadelphia Eagles-Green Bay Packers matchup and how the Dallas Cowboys offense is faring without coach Jason Garrett calling the plays.

The Chiefs will remain perfect in Week 10, which is their bye. The Eagles visit the Packers at 1 p.m. ET Sunday. The Cowboys face the Saints in Sunday night's highlight game.
