It's been slow going as far as news of roster cuts for the Seattle Seahawks today. In less than five hours, all 32 NFL teams have to have their initial 53-man rosters submitted to the league office in preparation for the regular season. However, so far there's only been one move to report when the team announced yesterday they were releasing cornerback Willie Roberts.
There's not even been a whiff of a rumor regarding the status of anyone else on the roster, so it sounds like new head coach Mike Macdonald is running a really tight ship when it comes to leaks. The closest thing we have to a rumored cut is this cryptic tweet from Seahawks cornerback Tre Brown, featuring a palm-faced emoji.

Before you get too far ahead of yourselves, keep in mind that this is a vague message that could mean any number of things and the only reason it's worth even half a story is because of the timing.
More importantly, it would come as a massive surprise if Brown wound up being one of the team's cuts. Brown played well last season and during training camp and they just traded the guy who would have been the best option to replace him on the left boundary. Our best guess is that Brown got word about one of the other cornerbacks on the team getting cut - and he's upset because he wanted to see that particular teammate make it.
We'll find out for sure in a few hours. For now, Brown still projects as Seattle's starter on the left side opposite Riq Woolen, with Devon Witherspoon taking over full-time in the slot.
