Tony Romo's best calls of season in CBS broadcast booth image

CBS took a risk almost two years ago when it hired Tony Romo, fresh off the field as the Cowboys' quarterback, as lead analyst for its NFL broadcasts. As the network prepares to cover Super Bowl 53, that risk has paid off. Romo, paired with longtime CBS play-by-play man Jim Nantz, is the toast of NFL TV.

Romo's charm in the broadcast booth is one thing. But he has impressed many with his habits of predicting plays seconds before they are run, a product of the knowledge he gained through 13 NFL seasons as a quarterback in Dallas. The early success in his analyst role is why Romo, 38, is expected to get a massive raise from CBS.

On his biggest broadcast stage thus far, the AFC championship game between the Patriots and Chiefs, Romo's legend as an announcer grew. One can assume that growth will increase exponentially when he calls Patriots vs. Rams in Super Bowl 53, the biggest stage of all.

Romo's chatter-inducing work as an analyst for CBS is nothing new, of course. Below are some of his best calls from the 2018 season.
