Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will not require surgery to repair his broken left collarbone suffered during Sunday's 20-10 win over the Eagles.
Romo tweeted out the news Monday afternoon.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said during his Monday press conference that Romo is expected to miss eight weeks.
"There was no additional damage to the ligaments," Garrett said. "We don't want to put a definitive timetable on it, other than to say it will probably be about eight weeks."
Romo could be placed on injured reserve with the designation to return, but the Cowboys have not yet made that decision.
While Romo is out, the Cowboys (2-0) will hope Brandon Weeden can play like he did against the Eagles, going 7 for 7 for 73 yards and a 42-yard touchdown to Terrance Williams.

"Brandon did a nice job in the game, very poised," Garrett said. "He's more and more comfortable in our system. Brandon will not play exactly how Tony plays, but we don't want him to play like Tony plays. We want him to play how Brandon plays.
"The players around him have confidence in him. He has confidence and we have confidence in him."
The Cowboys will likely promote former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore from the practice squad. Garrett said the team does not have immediate plans to sign another quarterback, but it could be a possibility.
"We're always looking to better our team," Garrett said, "so if there is a viable option out there, we'll explore it."
