The Cowboys on Tuesday placed quarterback Tony Romo on injured reserved-designated to return, meaning the soonest he could be back in the lineup would be Nov. 22 against the Dolphins.

Although Romo won't require surgery on the broken collarbone he sustained Sunday against the Eagles, he will miss eight weeks (seven games) while the injury to heals.
In the meantime, the team is scheduled to work out several quarterbacks — reportedly including Matt Flynn, Christian Ponder, Josh Johnson and McLeod Bethel-Thompson — to look for depth behind starter Brandon Weeden.
In his absence, the Cowboys will face the Falcons, at the Saints, Patriots, at the Giants, Seahawks, Eagles and at Buccaneers.
Receiver Dez Bryant's injury keeps him out even beyond that, possibly another four weeks.
