Rams fans may get their first look at top draft pick Todd Gurley on Sunday when the team travels to Washington to play the Redskins.

Gurley worked with the first-team offense at practice Tuesday, and coach Jeff Fisher said he isn’t “ruling him out right now.”

Gurley, the No. 10 overall pick in April's draft, didn’t play during the preseason and sat out the Rams’ opener against the Seahawks, a thrilling 34-31 win over the defending NFC champs.

While his debut is highly anticipated, Week 2 would exceed nearly everyone’s expectations for Gurley’s recovery from a torn ACL last November at Georgia.

“We’ll see,” Gurley said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “It’s not my decision. It’s the trainers’ decision. Well, it’s both our decisions together. ... It’s only Tuesday now. So we’ll have a great padded practice (Wednesday) and we’ll see how things go from tomorrow to Sunday.

“Right now, we’re just focusing in on every day — each day separately — and whatever happens each day, we’ll see.”

Running back Tre Mason is nursing a hamstring injury, so his status is in doubt after he missed Week 1. Benny Cunningham started and handled most of the backfield work against Seattle, racking up 45 rushing yards and 77 receiving.
