Looks like the New York Jets' starting quarterback job is still up for grabs.
One day after coach Todd Bowles said that distinction still belonged to Ryan Fitzpatrick, he backtracked Tuesday to say the starter hasn't been named for Week 7.
"First of all, after the game it's always going to be status quo because I'm never going to tell the media anything before I meet with my coaches and my GM and the rest of the staff," Bowles said, via the New York Daily News . "So everything's status quo until we have our meeting on Monday evening."
That means it's possible backup Geno Smith could be named the starter when the Jets take on the Baltimore Ravens Sunday.

Smith entered in the fourth quarter of Monday's 28-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals after Fitzpatrick threw for 174 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception. The 2013 second-round pick completed 4 of 6 passes in his first work of the season, but also tossed an interception on his first drive.
"When I discuss (the situation) with the staff, and when they know, everybody else will know. If I decide to make a move, (you'll) know (Wednesday)," Bowles said of naming a starter.
