Broncos' Knighton admits using slur during game; won't appeal fine image

Broncos nose tackle Terrance Knighton told reporters Wednesday he was fined $11,025 for inappropriate language during Denver's victory over the Jets on Sunday and that he wouldn't appeal.

Knighton said he used a racial slur after Julius Thomas' touchdown catch late in the first half. According to The Denver Post's Troy Renck, Knighton was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct during the extra point.

Knighton declined to provide further details.

Knighton made his admission on the same day the NFL reduced the fine it levied on 49ers Colin Kaepernick for allegedly saying the n-word during a game in Week 2. The league said it found no evidence Kaepernick uttered the slur.
