The Tennessee Titans have seen enough of 2021 fourth-round pick and outside linebacker, Rashad Weaver.
According to ESPN's Turron Davenport, the Titans are waiving Weaver, who was taken with the No. 135 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Weaver's stint with the Titans ends after just three seasons and 33 games played.
Weaver appeared in just two games for the Titans in 2021 during his rookie campaign before suffering a season-ending injury. He came back the next season and tallied 5.5 sacks over the first 10 weeks and looked to be turning the corner, but that was short-lived, as he didn't record another sack from that point through the 2023 season.
With the loss of Denico Autry earlier this offseason, Weaver figured to have a bigger role in the defense. However, he looked abysmal during the preseason, and particularly in preseason Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints.
Waiving Weaver comes on the heels of the Titans claiming two players off waivers in defensive lineman Ali Gaye and safety Julius Wood. Tennessee already had a spot open on the active roster, but will have to make room for linebacker Ernest Jones, who was reportedly acquired via trade on Tuesday.
