Former Tennessee Titans and current Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman suffered a scary injury at training camp practice on Thursday morning.
Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland.com, the injury occurred while the Browns were doing a kickoff drill. Foreman was injured on one rep and had to be immobilized on a board before being carted off the field.
The team has since released a statement saying that Foreman has a neck injury as a result of a direct blow to the head. Foreman has been transported to a hospital via helicopter to undergo further evaluation.
Thankfully, he has movement in all of his extremities.
"During practice today, Browns RB D'Onta Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain," the statement read. "The Browns athletic training staff deployed their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman. He was taken to an ambulance and is being transported via helicopter to a Medical Center in Roanoke, VA to undergo further medical evaluation.
"Foreman had movement in all his extremities. Updates will be provided as more information is received."
A former third-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2017, Foreman spent two years with the Titans, appearing in 15 games in that span. He was sensational for the team in 2021, when he filled in for an injured Derrick Henry.
After his stints with the Texans and Titans, Foreman played for the Carolina Panthers in 2022 and the Chicago Bears in 2023. He signed a one-year, $1.29 million deal with the Browns earlier this offseason.
