Almost nobody on the team needed to have a strong training camp more than Tennessee Titans 2022 third-round pick and quarterback, Malik Willis, who has had back-to-back lackluster campaigns to start his career.
Willis has gotten off a solid start to training camp, nearly going shot-for-shot with fellow backup quarterback, Mason Rudolph, over the first two sessions. But he might have had his best showing in the two-tone blue during the team's Nissan Stadium practice on Saturday.
According to Sam Phalen of AtoZ Sports, that was indeed the case, as he described Willis as "awesome" and noted that Saturday was probably Willis' "best practice in a Titans uniform."
"There will be Malik Willis articles written about today’s practice. He earned it," Easton Freeze of Broadway Sports Media said.
"Malik Willis had a very strong day," FOX Sports' Ben Arthur added.
Even the normally negative Paul Kuharsky gave the Liberty product his props.
"Malik Willis has been quite good today," Kuharsky wrote. "Just had a beautifully thrown deep ball dropped by undrafted rookie Bryce Oliver, who was 5 yards open."
Here's a look at some of the highlights of his day.

Rudolph entered camp as the favorite after having a superior showing during the offseason program, but Willis might have closed the gap at least a little bit after this showing.
Willis isn't just fighting for the backup job, he's fighting for a roster spot, as he could be cut if he loses out to Rudolph. However, if he can string together more sessions like he had on Saturday, he could force the Titans to keep three quarterbacks.
