The Tennessee Titans are set to embark on a new era in 2024 after the team moved on from former head coach Mike Vrabel in favor of new head coach Brian Callahan earlier this offseason.
In his second year on the job, general manager Ran Carthon has done an excellent job adding more talent to the roster, but there are still several question marks on both sides of the ball, and especially at the quarterback position.
Granted, second-year signal-caller Will Levis showed plenty of promise during his first season in the NFL, but he still has to cement himself as the long-term solution under center. That is easily the most important thing for the Titans in 2024.
After having an awful supporting cast in 2023, Levis is in a much better position to succeed during his second season, as the Titans have beefed up the offensive line and wide receiving corps. If Levis can take that next step, the Titans should finish with a better record than they did last season.
With all the uncertainty surrounding the Titans entering training camp, we thought it would be interesting to see where experts place them in NFL power rankings. Here's what we gathered.
NFL power rankings for Titans
Josh Kendall, The Athletic: 24
The Titans will attempt to play a football season without Derrick Henry this season. Maybe it’ll work, but it feels like a bad idea. Since being drafted 45th in the 2016 draft, Henry has accounted for 24 percent of Tennessee’s yards from scrimmage. In place of the bruising Henry, new head coach Brian Callahan has added running back Tony Pollard and wide receiver Calvin Ridley to pair with DeAndre Hopkins around young quarterback Will Levis.
Like many NFL teams, the Tennessee Titans are hitting the proverbial reset button in 2024. Quarterback Will Levis is entering his first full season as the starter. Running back Derrick Henry is gone, replaced by Tony Pollard. There's a new head coach in Brian Callahan.
Given all the changes, expectations for the Titans are low in 2024. But Levis told CBS Sports that he and his teammates are looking forward to proving pundits and fans alike wrong this season

27. Titans: It’s still weird that they fired Mike Vrabel.
This will be a fun team to watch. Second-year quarterback Will Levis has ignited the Titans' fan base, but they are a year away from being ready for a playoff spot.

No Derrick Henry and Will Levis as the starting quarterback doesn’t inspire confidence.
