Following the Tennessee Titans' first training camp practice on Wednesday, wide receiver Calvin Ridley made a notable comparison between Will Levis and a quarterback he used to play with.
According to Titans Radio, Ridley compared Levis' leadership and drive to get better with his former Atlanta Falcons teammate and the 2016 Most Valuable Player, Matt Ryan.
“Will (Levis) is doing everything. I played with Matt Ryan; Will’s doing the same thing that “Ice” (Ryan) did,” Ridley said. “He’s ready to work. He’s not satisfied with b-------. He wants it to be good. We want to work to get better so that when the games cut on, we look good.”
Ridley entered the league with the Falcons two seasons after Ryan won the award but spent four seasons with the now-retired former signal-caller. Ridley had his best season as a pro with Ryan when he reeled in a career-high 1,374 yards in 2020.
The veteran wide receiver spoke about the trip to Cabo he made along with Levis and others, noting that is was productive. However, he joked that he wasn't thrilled with the overall cost of the trip, and he admitted that Levis did not pay for it.
"It was good. Good bonding, good work," Ridley said. "Will, next year if we do it, can we go to a cheaper one? Can we go to a little bit cheaper? It was very nice, though, I'm just joking."
Thankfully, Ridley just got the bag from the Titans this offseason, so it shouldn't hurt him in the wallet too much.
