The Tennessee Titans are in danger of not having one of their top pass-rushers for the first six games of the 2024 campaign, as outside linebacker Arden Key is reportedly facing a suspension.
According to Paul Kuharsky, Key is about to be suspended for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, with the ban being six games. Key is expected to have a starting role on Tennessee's defense opposite Harold Landry.
The suspension will be a huge blow to Tennessee's defense, as the team is already short at the position behind its two starters. Aside from Landry and Key, the Titans have Rashad Weaver, Thomas Rush, Caleb Murphy, Jaylen Harrell, Shane Ray and UDFA Khalid Duke on the roster.
However, Weaver has been a major disappointment over three seasons in the NFL, and the rest of the players on the roster are all question marks, to say the least.
The news comes down on the same day that Key was involved in a fight at the team's first padded practice of training camp on Tuesday. Key reportedly threw punches at offensive lineman Leroy Watson in the scuffle.
Barring someone emerging from the aforementioned group in a big way, the Titans should be in the market for an edge rusher moving forward. According to Over the Cap, the Titans have plenty of money to work with, as they have $24.1 million in salary cap space.
