The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head into 2024 still in the early stages of a new chapter.
After their run to Super Bowl glory behind the since-retired Tom Brady, the Buccos are looking to find a way to create sustainable success without the help of the greatest of all time under center.
2023 was a good start, with Baker Mayfield taking the reins of the offense admirably, and leading Tampa Bay to a division title and playoff victory.

Buccaneers NFL Draft needs
- Wide receiver: Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are still one of the better receiving duos in the league, but Evans will be 31 at the start of the season and Godwin is on the final year of his current deal. The depth chart behind their top two doesn’t inspire confidence, so Tampa Bay might swing early on a potential immediate impact player.
- Offensive line: The Buccaneers offensive line was an issue last year, with Tampa Bay managing just 3.4 yards per carry in 2023, good for dead last in the NFL. Tackle Tristan Wirfs is a stud, but he’s playing out his fifth-year option, and will command a massive extension in the near future. Tampa Bay needs some cheap reinforcements in this year’s crop of rookies.
- Running back: While the offensive line was the leading issue in the Buccaneers’ rushing attack, they have room to upgrade at running back as well. Rachaad White has a huge impact in the Tampa passing game, but has been less successful on the ground. There’s a lot of talent in this year’s running back class, so don’t be surprised if the Buccaneers take a late-round swing in this area.
