Super Bowl prop bets 2020: Demi Lovato's national anthem over-under, length odds & more image

Betting on the Super Bowl is a national pastime, and one of the first things you can bet on is the national anthem.

Before the big game even starts you can bet on more than a dozen props regarding the national anthem.

The most popular bet always involves the amount of time it takes the singer to get through the "Star-Spangled Banner," but you can also bet on whether any players will protest the anthem or if Demi Lovato will flub any of the lyrics. Below is a complete list of prop bets surrounding the national anthem at Super Bowl 54.

Super Bowl prop bets 2020: National anthem

How long will the national anthem run?

  • Over 2:01 -155
  • Under 2:01 +115

This is the fifth time that Lovato will sing the national anthem before a sporting event. In her first three renditions of the anthem, she finished in under two minutes, but she went long in her last version. Lovato sang the national anthem before the huge PPV fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor in 2017, and it took her 2 minutes and 11 seconds to finish.

We have seen five of the last seven national anthem performances last longer than two minutes, so that coupled with Lovato’s growing fame means she will likely go over.

How long will Demi Lovato hold the word “brave” at the end of the national anthem?

  • Over 5.5 seconds -175
  • Under 5.5 seconds +135

Will Demi Lovato omit a word from the national anthem?

  • Yes +900
  • No -3000

We have seen a few artists flub the national anthem in the past, but Lovato is an improbable candidate given how seasoned she is at this point. Lovato hasn’t had an issue singing the "Star-Spangled Banner," and that’s one of the reasons she continues to be asked to sing the anthem. This is a hefty price to pay, but Lovato certainly won’t be overcome by the moment.

Will any player raise a fist during the national anthem?

  • Yes +575
  • No -1250

No player is likely to draw upon the memory of Tommie Smith and raise a fist in the air during the national anthem. The NFL has made it clear that it does not want players to protest the anthem, and only a few active players continue to protest. None of the three players that protested the anthem during the season play for either Kansas City or San Francisco, so it’s very unlikely that someone changes course at this juncture.

Which coach will be shown first during the national anthem?

  • Andy Reid +110
  • Kyle Shanahan +120
  • No coach shown +350
  • Robert Saleh +550

Which quarterback will be shown first during the national anthem?

  • Patrick Mahomes -150
  • Jimmy Garoppolo +110

It’s curious that there has been action on this prop. The line movement is likely due to Mahomes being a much bigger star than Jimmy G, so some bettors believe that the camera will pan to him before anyone else. There’s no question that Mahomes is the most recognizable player on the field, and the camera will certainly be on him at some point.

Who will be the first tight end shown during the national anthem?

  • George Kittle -120
  • Travis Kelce -120

Will the broadcast show members of the military during the national anthem?

  • Yes -5000
  • No +2000

This is the biggest lock on the board. We always see shots of troops standing for the national anthem during Super Bowl broadcasts, and there’s no doubt that we will see Americans in uniform given the United States currently has troops stationed all over the Middle East. In addition to cameras being embedded with troops overseas, the cameras will likely cut to the color guard presenting the arms at some point too, making this a free two percent.
