Generally, NBC's "Sunday Night Football" these days gets the best prime-time NFL matchups, certainly more so than the games scheduled for Thursdays and Mondays. That's the case when the full NFL schedule is built in the spring, and in Week 4 of the 2019 season, "SNF" will present what many consider the game of the weekend.
In a game scheduled to begin at 8:20 p.m. ET, the Saints will host the Cowboys at the Superdome in New Orleans.
Though Saints quarterback Drew Brees remains out with a thumb injury, New Orleans salvaged the Dallas game's status as one of the most intriguing matchups of Week 4 when it upset Seattle a week ago. The Saints are a respectable 2-1 and playing against the 3-0 Cowboys as home underdogs.
Sporting News picked the Cowboys to beat the Saints in both its picks against the spread and its straight-up predictions. Then again, few expected the Saints to beat the Seahawks. Last year's game between Dallas and New Orleans, when the Cowboys shocked the heavily favored Saints, is strong reminder of the possibility of an upset.

Who plays on Sunday Night Football tonight?
- Matchup: Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints
- Kickoff time: 8:20 p.m. ET
Dallas, even on the road, is the favorite in its game against New Orleans on NBC's "Sunday Night Football. Much of that has to do with the fact that Brees is out, keeping those who scan their TV channels for Cowboys vs. Saints on Sunday night from being able to watch a duel between two of the NFC's best quarterbacks.
They'll have to settle for a duel between two of the NFL's best running backs, instead.
With Ezekiel Elliott and Co., the Cowboys are averaging an impressive 179 yards per game on the ground. Alvin Kamara and the Saints are averaging just 97.7 rushing yards per game, but the run game will be a key part of their game plan. New Orleans figures to feature a heavy dose of Kamara, specifically, a week after he posted 161 scrimmage yards against the Seahawks.
Kamara last week became the fifth player in NFL history to record 20-plus rushing touchdowns and 10-plus receiving touchdowns in his first three NFL seasons. And Zeke has been just as impressive; he leads the NFL in rushing yards (4,337) and scrimmage yards (5,569) since his rookie year in 2016.
