What channel is Steelers vs. 49ers on today? Time, TV schedule for Week 3 game image

The Steelers' chances to beat the 49ers on Sunday, a game scheduled to kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET on CBS, depend on who you ask. In our Week 3 NFL picks, both straight up and against the spread, Sporting News predicted a San Francisco win.

SN contributor Jeff Diamond, though, warns us not to count out Pittsburgh in the wake of the Ben Roethlisberger injury. Mascon Rudolph will start for the 0-2 Steelers against the undefeated 49ers, but backup QBs have surprised us plenty of times in the past.

Of course, who is or is not playing QB is not a factor when it comes to fan interest anytime the Steelers face the 49ers. This is a rare matchup of two of the NFL's most storied (and popular) franchises; the two haven't met in the regular season since 2015, and they haven't met in San Francisco since 2011.

Though the 49ers lead the all-time series against the Steelers 11-10, Pittsburgh has won two of the last three.

Below is all the info you need to watch Steelers vs. 49ers on Sunday, including the TV channels and kickoff time.

What channel is Steelers vs. 49ers on today?

  • TV channel (national): CBS
  • TV channel (Pittsburgh): KDKA
  • TV channel (San Francisco): KPIX
  • Live stream: fuboTV (regional)

In part because Steelers vs. 49ers is not considered CBS' game of the week (that goes to Seahawks vs. Saints), only the areas around Pittsburgh and San Francisco, plus some spots in the Carolinas, will be served the game.

Greg Gumbel will call the play-by-play action of Steelers vs. 49ers for CBS, and Trent Green will provide analysis. Melanie Collins will report from the sidelines.

For those who wish to find Steelers vs. 49ers on the radio, the Pittsburgh call can be heard on Sirius channel 108 and XM channel 385, and the San Francisco call can be heard on Sirius channel 94 and XM channel 234.

Steelers vs. 49ers: What time is kickoff?

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 22
  • Start time: 4:25 p.m. ET

The late Sunday kickoff time is good news for the Steelers, who are making their first of two long road trips for games in the Pacific time zone this season (Week 6 at Chargers).

For the 49ers, Sunday's Steelers game is their 2019 home-opener after consecutive road wins (at Bucs, at Bengals) to start the season.
